We don't list every captain who applies. Here's what it takes to join Gulf Coast Charters:
1. License Verification
We verify current USCG Captain's License (6-pack or higher) and confirm it's in good standing.
2. Insurance Check
We confirm liability insurance and that it meets Coast Guard requirements for charter operations.
3. Safety Inspection
We verify all required safety equipment: life jackets, flares, radio, first aid, fire extinguisher.
4. Boat Photo Verification
Photos must accurately represent the boat. We check for misleading images or outdated pictures.
5. Background & References
We check references and ensure the captain has a solid reputation in the fishing community.
6. Ongoing Monitoring
Captains must maintain their ratings and licenses. We re-verify annually and investigate complaints.
